BIPOC Beekeeper Training Program 2022
Woven Roots Farm is proud to be the host site for Smoke and Honey Co. Beekeeping Training Program. In this 5-month program, we seek to:
Create a safe and inclusive learning environment
Support the growth of a network of beekeepers of color
Pass on the knowledge of 4 generations of beekeeping practices
Train beekeepers of all levels
Implement and learn about a series of holistic and sustainable beekeeping practices
Nourish community through gatherings, bonfires, and potlucks
Registration costs are on a sliding scale, recommended $250/person, and include you’re own beekeeping gear - a hat, hive tool, smoker, and veil. Thanks to Berkshire Ag Ventures for offering a grant to bring registration costs down from $450/person to $250/person. No one turned away for lack of funds, all eager bees are welcome.
